At the rite, boys are told about sexual purity, sexual disease through impurity and about menstruation using symbolism . This would occur at ages nine to sixteen.A clay phallic object is used in defloration at the end of chiputu. Instructions are given by means of song and explicit clay figurines including themes of defloration, conception, orgasmic timing, and intercourse taboos.”

As we see sexuality is far from being taboo in many parts of the continent.There is more than basic knowledge about sex and all that it encompasses on a social,cultural,physiological and marital level.
The question that comes to mind is where does this intrinsic knowledge combines/merges with urban sexual lifestyle and what does it create ?
